Reading Time: 7 minutesPractice Yoga asanas at home; every day may voice dull.
But if you persevere, you will undoubtedly start loving the process — my favored words!
I initially started exercising at home without any equipment.
- Mostly stretching and cardio exercises at home.
But, slowly and steadily, as I proceeded,
- I found interest and even attempted a few weight workouts at home.
After that,
I willingly developed a curiosity about YOGA; therefore, I eyed it online and began doing it daily at home for nearly a few months.
Then, I determined to give Yoga asanas a tighter look, understand them, and learn how to perform the Yoga poses correctly.
Let me take you to Rishikesh, and we will go ahead and complete the purpose of knowing simple Yoga asanas for daily life in this article.

Rishikesh
I genuinely want to inform you,
If you’re traveling by Volvo Bus to Rishikesh:
- Most buses will drop you at the Nepali Farm, relatively far from the Rishikesh.
Furthermore,
The Auto drivers from Nepali farm would charge additional enough that only a one-way journey would initially disbalance your budget.
But especially when returning to the Nepali farm,
- Suppose to catch an overnight bus – the Auto driver would demand the amount equivalent to your bus ride.
Similar experience I faced.
Phew!
Rishikesh, After a Long Time
I went to Rishikesh after 3 years.
Assume something; where did I stay?—Aye! I preferred staying in the same hostel in Rishikesh as I did many years back.
Though I spent a week there, Unfortunately, time changed, the environment changed, and the hostel’s vibes also changed, honestly!
But, let’s proceed ahead,
Best Time to Learn Yoga in Rishikesh
Considering my experience,
I believe summer is the best month if you want to learn Yoga in Rishikesh. Moreover, daylight happens early, and dusk takes its time. Thus, long summer days.
Interestingly,
During my initial class
The instructor expressed that there are very few Indians who come to learn Yoga. Mainly, the foreign individuals show interest and curiosity in learning Yoga.
At that time, I was the only one practicing Yoga, and after the lockdown scenes, the rush of foreigners became significantly less in Rishikesh.
Yoga in Rishikesh
As I expressed, I was the only one practicing on the weekdays, but a few others joined as the weekend approached.
I took 13-day classes at Swami Vivekananda Yoga and Meditation Foundation.
For the convenience of saving time, I chose this place as it remained only 200m away from the hostel I was staying in.
- From morning till evening, I did office work like the new normal, WORKING FROM HOME!
- Then in the evening at 5:30 p.m, I attend the Yoga classes.
I somehow planned to stay in Rishikesh for about 9 days; therefore, I needed to manage the 13 classes accordingly — Mostly twice a day, for one hour each.
Because the interval between two Yoga asanas and the difficulty of the asanas also matter.
However, the asanas I practice at home don’t involve many postures holding in a place. Compared to the 5-10 sec. of asana holding when I exercised at Rishikesh.
How’s My Yoga Experience in Rishikesh?
Though, my Yoga experience in Rishikesh was satisfying!
But,
At one time, I felt that I opted for too many classes. Indeed, I also thought 9-10 classes would be enough.
Nevertheless, everything happens for a reason — ultimately, I got to stay a few more days in Rishikesh.
My visit to Rishikesh was about Yoga, but not WHOLLY. I additionally captured the attractive streets of Rishikesh on the weekend.
Streets of Rishikesh
On the weekend evening, I sit on the ghat side to witness the sundown and to feel calm and relaxed.
- Honestly, the soul-satisfying calmness is present when you arrive very early, mainly around sunrise, then you truthfully feel the definition of obtaining peace—otherwise, too many human noises.
Let’s come back and fulfill the motive of this article. I have shared my Yoga Asana learnings below.
