Reading Time: 4 minutesI visited Vietnam during Tet, and it was a fantastic experience.
While exploring the streets, I remembered ticking off a unique cafe on my Hanoi must-visit places list.
When I was making a list of places to visit in Hanoi at home, I added this café.
On my first day in Hanoi, after exploring the streets for the first half, I felt tired and went to the hostel to sleep.
After a short nap, I decided to go to this café and try the famous Egg Coffee.

Visiting the Note Coffee
I followed the google maps.
The distance from my hostel to Note Coffee was less than 1 km, and I would be walking, which I love to do.
Also, it was near the Hoan Kiem Lake. Thus, a pretty happening area.
Soon, I reached the Note Coffee. The establishment was decent, and a person stood outside, conveying offers and wanting people to come and try it.
I went inside, checked the menu, and without any thought, I ordered an Egg Coffee.
I especially went there to have an Egg Coffee because I wanted to experience its intriguing decor.
For the Egg Coffeẻ—I paid 60,000 VND (Rs. 200 approx.). The person said to wait upstairs till the time being.

The way upstairs was very narrow and very congested. When I reached the first floor, I was shocked to see the notes stuck everywhere. Though I have already seen the notes while ordering on the ground floor, I thought it was only limited to that area.
But, upstairs was exquisite.
Everywhere I eye is full of Sticky Notes—Be it the Ceiling, Fans, Table, Windows, Stairs, etc. I was indeed mesmerized, I hadn’t seen anything like this before. Truly unique!

I even read a few sticky notes. People have poured their love for the cafe, they wrote about their dreams, and their country, and also a few of them wrote their Instagram handle! Which is obvious to write nowadays. Ha-Ha!
I sat on one of the tables on the first floor.
Meanwhile, a person with the coffee arrived. An order number was kept on the table, so he recognized through that.
My Review on the Egg Coffee
Well, I loved it!!
The taste of the Egg was mild, and it indeed tasted delicious. The coffee was hot too. I feel that if the Egg Coffee had turned cold, it wouldn’t have tasted well—my assumption.

Furthermore, I feel people who came to the cafe have taken care of and showed respect to make sure the uniqueness of the cafe remains the same.
After having Egg Coffee, I went to the other floor as well. All were distinctively unique in their own space. You can even see the Hoan Kiem Lake from the Note Coffee window and the happenings outside.
People were happily enjoying their time and coffee at the Note Cafe!
I stayed very excited to see and photograph every corner.
The Other Day
I went to the train street to see the train passing by the congested street and cafes on both sides throughout the lane.
There, I found someone to talk to and we decided to hang out. She was from Germany and was on a 3-month exploration trip to Asian countries. Visiting India and especially seeing the Taj Mahal was on her list too.
While we were discussing where to go next, I told her about the Note Cafe—she hadn’t heard of it at all.
I thought to take her to the Note Cafe. It was almost 4-5 kms from the train street. Unknowingly, I went to a train street which is a little farther. Thus, it took time.
She remained very excited when I told her about the cafe and how interesting it looked.
As we reached the café, I realized it had just closed. It was New Year’s Eve—Tet—so many shops were shutting down early. Some had closed two days before the New Year.
Hence, the uniqueness of the cafe pretty much influenced me to tell about it to others.
Have you heard of something unique like this? Let me know in the comments.
