Undoubtedly, relax on the foremost day. When I landed in Leh, I felt uneasy due to no rest the previous night, so you will need good rest and dining on time.
You will thank yourself when you visit Thiksey Monastery early morning because you will get a chance to witness the Monk's prayers.
20 km away from Thiksey is Hemis Monastery. However, there's an Rs.100 entry fee to visit this Monastery, but you'll love your time admiring the colors moreover.
When going back to Leh, you can plan to visit the Shey Palace, the mountain background from this place looks very Raw and close.
I planned to see the Sunset from Shanti Stupa but went the opposite. However, the rain made the day pleasant, and I was out there—thanks to Umbrella.
