Delhi To Kalpa – A Must Worth Experiencing Long Road Journey

Delhi to Kalpa – Complete Travel Guide from Delhi (2026)

Last updated on April 11th, 2026 at 09:53 am

Reading Time: 11 minutes

I left Delhi the day before my birthday. No cake, no plans — just a bag and a bus heading toward Kinnaur.

There’s something about chasing the unknown in the mountains that feels more like a reset than a holiday. And Kinnaur, for most people, is still beautifully unknown.

You’ve seen glimpses of it without realising — those razor-edged cliffs and roads in Highway? That’s the Kinnaur valley. The Kinner Kailash range is at 6,050 metres. Roads that feel like a daring ride.

That’s where I was headed. And if you’re reading this, I think you already know you want to go too.

I had to catch a bus from Reckong Peo to Shimla. I had traveled on a truck & that truck was a film shooting truck. At that time, a film shoot was going on in the Kalpa. They had dropped me half the journey.

I did another hitchhike in a car for the rest of the journey. Finally, the person dropped me at the Reckong Peo bus stand. And I was able to catch my bus.
